The idea of the project:
To use the world of Lucha Libre as an inspiration for El mas Santo project; to confront the luchadores aesthetics with the Polish public space. The luchadores figurines will also appear in other cities, for instance in Warsaw, Paris, Mexico City, New York, delivered by our friends, to spread the worship of El mas Santo. Every figurine has an attached note containing request to take a picture of the object and send it to El mas Santo Internet gallery. This enables the recipients of the project to create the history of El mas Santo as well.
The elements of the project:
Biographical story (written by Maciej Dobosiewicz) presented in form of a book – the history of El mas Santo referring to the screenplays of B class movies where luchadores appeared. The story is interspersed with illustrations and figurines pictures taken on the streets. Original graphics were all made on the boards, size 4,5 m x 2,5 m. About 200 wrestlers polymer-clay figurines, high 8-10 cm, placed on the streets – giving the opportunity to interact with the project.
